Starting Line: A look at both sides of the gun bill debate

Few issues bring out strong opinions like gun legislation. Here in Minnesota and on the national stage, gun laws get people talking. Two bills that could prevent some Minnesotans from having access to firearms were approved by the House public safety division last week.

In a packed hearing room, some testifiers said it’s time for tougher gun laws to keep weapons out of the hands of the wrong people. Others argue that it’s their unreserved constitutional right to keep and bear arms. This week on Starting Line we learn more about HF8 and HF9 and look at both sides of potential changes to laws governing gun ownership.
