Starting Line: Grant program could help schools pay for solar power

Solar energy is one of the “cleaner” energy sources and it can also be a convenient way to save money on energy costs. So why aren’t more people or businesses going solar? For some, it’s the cost.

The installation of solar energy systems can be expensive, especially for bigger buildings, like a school. Rep. Patty Acomb (DFL-Minnetonka) sponsors HF1133 that would create a grant program to help some schools pay for the installation of solar energy systems.
