Under a bill passed 125-0 by the House on Monday, Minnesota National Guard members could be sent to help staff events in rented out armories.
HF3212/SF3000* would give the adjutant general the authority to assign current and former officers, warrant officer and enlisted personnel to serve while the state’s armories are rented out. The personnel would have to consent to the service, and the bill would allow the adjutant general to establish pay rates.
Sponsored by Rep. Anne Neu (R-North Branch) and Sen. Mike Goggin (R-Red Wing), the bill heads to the governor. The Senate passed the bill 64-0 May 8.
