RELEASE: Walz Education Proposal a "Do Nothing" plan

Monday, January 25, 2021

ST. PAUL — Rep. Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, Republican Lead on the House Education Finance Committee, issued the following statement regarding Gov. Walz's education plan released Monday afternoon.

"The Governor's plan is heavy on talking points, but lacks any meaningful reforms to raise academic achievement. This plan is crafted by organizations that have obstructed progress and choices for students and families, and is a recipe for failure. Indoctrinating students with messages that focus on our country's flaws won't raise the percentage of kids reading at grade level. It won't help increase math scores. This plan is not the "Due North" plan, it's a "Do Nothing" plan that will fail Minnesota students."
