Talking it through: Go inside a House caucus meeting

Have you ever wished to be a fly on the wall of a House caucus meeting?

The House DFL and Republican caucuses meet separately and behind closed doors. Typically, the only people allowed into a caucus meeting are representatives, staff members and approved guests.

Caucuses often occur prior to a floor session, or a floor session can go into recess and then a caucus can occur. Bills scheduled for an upcoming floor debate are typically discussed during a meeting.

In this video, House leadership explains what happens in caucus and the purpose of the meetings. Watch it here.
