Starting Line: Providing mental health care for college students

Getting access to mental health care services may be difficult for some college students. Transportation, payment options, and lack of information can all be potential roadblocks for a student looking for help.

Oftentimes, students don’t have mental health insurance coverage or may not have health insurance coverage at all.

This week on Starting Line we learn about a proposal from Rep. Laurie Halverson (DFL-Eagan) which would, in part, direct the Minnesota State system to provide free mental health care services for current students. Find out why Halverson is sponsoring HF4381 to help college students.
