Parking restriction near manufactured homes could be eased

Rep. Tim Sanders (R-Blaine)HF180, sponsored by Rep. Tim Sanders (R-Blaine), was referred to the House Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee. A companion, SF209, sponsored by Sen. Tom Saxhaug (DFL-Grand Rapids), awaits action by the Senate Health, Human Services and Housing Committee.
Sanders said the restriction prohibits some residents from parking in a driveway adjacent to their home, so they park on the street instead. That raises concern about the ability for public safety vehicles to get through during an emergency.
There are about 900 manufactured home parks in the state licensed by the Department of Health.
