St. Paul, MN – Representative Susan Akland (R-St. Peter) released the following statement regarding the passage of HF3604, the ALS caregiver support bill.
“When the government comes together, good things happen for the people. I am thankful to my colleagues, both Republicans and Democrats, for passing HF3604.
‘I served as a nurse for more than four decades and was a caregiver to my parents in recent years. The toll ALS has on both the patient and caregiver is one that can weigh heavy on all compassionate hearts.
‘This bill will help fund much-needed research for ALS and provide more support for caregivers.
‘This legislation will one day lead to a cure, which we can all count as a blessing.”
