ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Minnesota Management and Budget released the February budget forecast, indicating a $9.25 billion surplus. This is more than the December forecast of $7.7 billion.
Representative Susan Akland (R-19A) issued this statement regarding the report:
“Minnesota families have been struggling to pay bills while the government sits on billions of dollars. It is quite clear that money belongs back in the purses and wallets of Minnesotans. This money needs to be given back to the people in permanent and meaningful ways. We need to end the social security tax, rebuild our unemployment trust fund and return the money to the taxpayers,” Akland said.
