News from Rep. Roz Peterson 09-25-2015

Friday, September 25, 2015
Dear Friends,

On November 3rd Districts 194 and 196 will head to the polls for school referendums and school board elections. A Candidate Forum for ISD 196 has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Rosemount City Hall. You can attend the forum in person or watch the forum on local channels 180 and 188 up until Election Day.

Read more about the upcoming vote in the Apple Valley Sun by clicking here. ISD 194 is having two questions for the voters. Here is more information: http://isd194.org/about/referendum-2015/

These off-year school elections are usually very low-turnout elections, so I hope you will read up on the candidates and referendum votes and get out to vote on November 3rd to make your voice heard. Click here to find ballot question information and polling locations.

Revenue

Late last week we learned the general fund revenue in August exceeded the forecasted amount by $113 million. The net revenue change since the February 2015 forecast is a positive $698 million. It's my hope that we can use surplus funds to deliver tax relief for families and additional funding for roads and bridges next session.

Grand Openings

Chick-Fil-A, 3 Key Logic and KW Realty all opened their businesses and celebrated ribbon cuttings in Burnsville over the past week--Welcome and Congratulations!
