Minnesota Becomes More Diverse Census Bureau data released Thursday shows Minnesota is becoming more diverse, reflecting nationwide trends. Enhanced Unemployment Benefits Ending Additional unemployment benefits through Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation or Pandemic Emergency Assistance are ending the week of September 4. Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is offering three webinars for you to learn how CareerForce can help you transition to a new job or career at no cost to you. The Latest on the Eviction Moratorium Recent news regarding the federal and state eviction moratorium can get confusing, but the important thing is to be sure you’re taking advantage of the available resource. If you are behind on rent due to the pandemic, go to RentHelpMN.org or call 211 for more assistance. July Tax Revenues General fund revenue in July exceeded the forecasted amount by $67 million. Property tax refund filers should file before the August 15 deadline The Minnesota Department of Revenue reminds homeowners and renters to file for their 2019 property tax refund before the August 15 deadline. Additionally, claims for 2020 refunds can be filed from now until August 15, 2022. Renters have started receiving their refunds and homeowners can expect to start getting their refunds as early as late August. COVID-19 Vaccination Update The Minnesota Department of Health reports 3.2 million Minnesotans (70%) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine guards against the highly contagious Delta variant showing up across the country and in Minnesota.
