COVID-19 Aid Package Announced

Neighbors and Friends,

As the pandemic accelerates, many of our small business owners, workers and families continue to struggle. Yesterday, Gov. Walz and DFL House legislative leaders announced an aid package to assist those who have been significantly impacted by COVID-19.  We are crafting a compromise bill to pass in an upcoming special session to deliver relief to our friends and neighbors in need.

COVIDaware MN

On Monday, Governor Walz announced the mobile app COVIDaware MN, a new tool to keep Minnesotans informed as the virus surges across the state. COVIDaware MN is a mobile app that sends an alert if the user is in contact with someone who contracts the virus. The app is free, anonymous and voluntary. Minnesota is Number One!

Once again, Minnesota led the nation in voter participation. On Tuesday, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon announced 79.96 % of eligible Minnesotans participated in the 2020 General Election. You can read more here. Good job, Minnesota!

I know this has been a difficult year adjusting to COVID-19 changes in our lives. Our holidays will be unlike any we have celebrated in past years. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you will reflect on the good things in your lives.
