Neighbors and Friends,

The 2020 legislative session is winding down and we will be in floor session all weekend. Among the measures to be considered is the Capital Investment or “bonding” bill. Several projects important to our district are part of this comprehensive measure. We have not  reached an agreement with the Senate on our economic security package which provides $100 in housing assistance, help for our personal care assistants, expansion of broadband and help for small businesses.

Stay at Home Order changes

The current Stay at Home order will expire on next Monday, May 18th,?and will be replaced with an order allowing for more businesses to reopen as well as other changes. Governor Walz made the announcement on Wednesday and extended the current peacetime emergency?through June 12th. These emergency powers have enabled the governor to take necessary action to secure the safety of Minnesotans?and deliver emergency relief to residents of our state who have been harmed economically by this pandemic. You can read the full executive order?here.?
