Capitol Newsletter from Rep. Spencer Igo

Friday, April 12, 2024

Good Morning, Neighbors-

It has been another busy week representing you and our home in St. Paul. While there has indeed been work on the House Floor this week, we are in somewhat of a holding pattern as we are awaiting our third deadline which will be coming up a week from today. On that day, we will have a better idea of what the final bills will look like.

I have been hearing from many of you about the issues that are of concern for you and your family—and for that, I am incredibly grateful. It is those questions, concerns, and ideas that help guide the policy and votes that I make on our behalf.

This week’s newsletter isn’t so much a report on what has happened, instead, it is a way to say thank you for the opportunity to be your voice and representative. This role causes me to wake up every day with energy and a sense of duty to do the work on behalf of our communities. In the coming weeks, many bills will be coming before us for votes—oftentimes very quickly. I encourage you to keep up with these bills and the discussions of their passage.

I will make sure to let you know these bills’ outcomes and impacts as they come before the House, but I also want to make an ask. As these bills come forward, I am asking for your stories and experiences that I can share with the legislature to give our district’s view on the bills. It is these personal stories that carry the impact that can help shape and make legislation better.

Together, our district can work to deliver legislation that works for all of us and puts our state on track to deliver prosperity for us not only today but future generations.

I hope you all have a great weekend and please make sure to keep an eye out for the next newsletter and follow my Facebook page.

All the best,

Spencer
