Moorhead, MN - This week, State Representative Heather Keeler (DFL - Moorhead) hosted the House Human Services Policy Committee and House and Senate Transportation Chairs in Moorhead to highlight local needs. This is the latest in a series of committees and legislators Rep. Keeler has hosted in Moorhead this legislative interim.

“During the legislative interim the work doesn’t stop, if anything it provides more opportunities for my legislative colleagues to visit our community and personally see the needs of Moorhead and the region,” said Rep. Keeler. “Whether it’s the services that keep our families healthy, or the ways in which we get from point A to point B, I want to thank the House Human Services Policy Committee and the legislature’s Transportation Committee Chairs - Rep. Frank Hornstein and Sen. Scott Dibble - for making the trip to listen to the unique needs of our border city.”

On Monday, Rep. Keeler hosted the House Human Services Policy Committee at the Clay County Courthouse, where they held an informational hearing to discuss children's mental health services, border community-specific human services needs, and county-based human services.

On Tuesday, Rep. Keeler and Sen. Kupec brought the Transportation Committee Chairs on a tour of infrastructure sites in Moorhead, including stops at the 11th Street underpass, County Road 26, and the Lakes & Prairies Community Action office, where the legislators held a discussion with community leaders on local transportation needs.

“When I return to St. Paul next session, Moorhead will be top of mind, not just for me, but for my colleagues who now have a firsthand experience in what our community needs to thrive,” said Rep. Keeler.
