Heinrich Legislation Improves Roadways

Wednesday, February 23, 2022

St. Paul, MN – Representative John Heinrich (R-Anoka) is continuing his already strong commitment to make Minnesotans safer on our roads. He has filed two pieces of legislation that would make Minnesota highways better for motorists and pedestrians.

This comes on the heels of successfully securing the funding to remove stoplights throughout the Anoka-Ramsey area and other important safety upgrades.

One bill provides funding for a third lane on U.S. Highway 10 and the other for a study on a Mississippi River Crossing project in Ramsey.

“Part of my job as Representative is making life easier for my constituents. Both projects would create more access into our communities and address safety concerns. I call that a win-win,” Heinrich said. “A Mississippi River Crossing is necessary to help deal with increased traffic projections over the next several years as development in our community continues to grow.”

The Coon Rapids project would provide $25 million to Anoka County to construct a third lane of travel on Highway 10.
