Anoka and City of Ramsey Day at the Capitol - February 18

Monday, February 4, 2019

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

On Monday, February 18, I am hosting “Anoka and City of Ramsey Day at the Capitol” along with Senator Jim Abeler. This is an opportunity for anyone from our communities to come to the Capitol to meet with me, share input and ask questions, experience legislative committees and a House floor session firsthand, tour the Capitol and legislative office buildings, and learn more about the legislature and state government. I want to make my office and the legislature as accessible as possible to our communities, and I feel this event is a good way to help do that.

I would like to formally invite you to Anoka and City of Ramsey Day at the Capitol, which will begin at 12:15PM on Monday, February 18 in Room 272 of the State Office Building (100 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, St Paul, MN 55155). As a member of the Anoka and Ramsey communities, I value your input and ideas and believe this would be a great opportunity to see the legislature up close.

Below is a schedule of the day’s events:

  • 12:15 PM – Meet and Greet with Rep. Heinrich in State Office Building, Room 272
  • 12:45 PM – Tour State Office Building (House of Representatives offices)
  • 1:30 PM – Private Tour of the State Capitol Building
  • 2:15 PM – Tour the Minnesota Senate Building with Senator Abeler
  • 3:30 PM – (Optional) Sit-in and watch the House of Representatives Floor Session

Parking can be found in Ramp F, which is connected to the Department of Transportation Building and has access to the tunnel to the State Office Building (S.O.B.). There is a pay station on level 1 of Ramp F, and parking is $2.00/hour or $8.00/day. Here is some additional parking information that may be helpful: https://mn.gov/admin/citizen/buildings-grounds/parking/.

Please RSVP to my email address at Rep.john.heinrich@house.mn or by phone at 651-296-7129 by Monday, February 11.

I hope you can join me and other members of our community for the first Anoka and City of Ramsey Day at the Capitol. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,
John
