Rep. Lippert Votes for Coronavirus Response Bill

Monday, March 9, 2020

St. Paul, MN – Today, the Minnesota House moved swiftly to unanimously pass legislation that would invest $20.9 million in reinforcing the state’s response to COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. The bill, SF 3813, is expected to be signed into law by Governor Walz this evening. State Representative Todd Lippert (DFL – Northfield) voted in favor of the bill.

“The Legislature’s quick, bipartisan response to COVID-19 will better ensure Minnesota’s public health system can take on this issue,” said Rep. Lippert. “Our state is well-prepared to respond to this virus, and I’ll continue to work with the Department of Health to deliver the resources our community and our state require to make sure Minnesotans stay healthy.”

With two confirmed cases of the virus in Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Health has set up a hotline to answer questions relating to COVID-19, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The hotline number is 651-201-3920. Residents are also encouraged to visit www.health.state.mn.us for up-to-date and accurate information.
