This is a reminder of the Environment Town Hall I will be co-hosting tonight with State Representative Raymond Dehn and State Senator Bobby Joe Champion.
All are welcome to attend with questions about impacts of the 2017 legislative session and special concerns regarding toxic lead in the environment, air pollution, water quality and other topics. As you may have seen in the news, I recently signed onto a letter requesting that the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency use the financial award that Minnesota receives from the Volkswagen pollution settlement to help improve air quality in communities that are at elevated risk, like our own. You can read the press release on our letter to MPCA here and watch the KARE 11 story on that issue here.
Tonight, Commissioners from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota Department of Health, and community activists have been invited to attend to provide information as well. They will provide information and take questions from members of the community. This event is free and open to the public and people are welcome to come and go as they please.
