This week district lines were redrawn. I want to tell you clearly that a district line will never determine who or what I fight for. That answer remains the same: the people of Minnesota and your right to live a safe and happy life.
I worked on some legislation this week that would require legislative approval before making any new rules to our Peace Officer Standards. My goal here it to make sure our law enforcement officers are not the victim of unreasonable rules that do not protect them or the public.
I also backed some legislation that would create a bonus program for our Peace Officers. In Minnesota, our peace officers have shown up to the job with no thanks from some of our government officials, who represent some of our major cities. The public narrative is that they don’t matter. I am putting my money where my mouth is and reminding everyone that the job of our peace officers is an important one. They should be compensated and appreciated accordingly.
