The holidays are here, and I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you are able to spend the holidays celebrating with loved ones and enjoying the holiday season. Also, if you’re traveling over the next couple of weeks, please be safe out there!
I would like to take a moment to share all that I am grateful for this holiday season including my family and our wonderful community. It is an honor and privilege to represent you at the Capitol in St. Paul! I truly cherish the opportunity you have given me to serve our community.
Wreaths Across America Wreath Presentation to the Legislature
On Thursday, December 14, 2017, Col James Garlough of the MN Civil Air Patrol Wing Commander, presented a wreath to the State of Minnesota. I attended along with my colleagues including, from left to right in the attached photo are Sen. Paul Gazelka, myself, Rep. Joyce Peppin, Rep. Roz Peterson, and Speaker Kurt Daudt.
MSP Airport
Following the power outage that crippled the Atlanta Airport, it is great to hear that Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport is prepared in case a situation like what happened in Atlanta happens here. This week, we sent a letter to officials at the MSP Airport on Monday looking to make sure there were emergency plans in place as well as contingencies if a power outage occurs.
