Dear Neighbor,
Just a quick note regarding a Highway 19 bridge project that is set to start in just a couple of months and will cause traffic detours.
An aging Highway 19 bridge over the railroad tracks east of Henderson is set to be replaced. Motorist can expect to encounter detours on Highways 93 and 169 from April 18 until work is scheduled to be completed in November. This may be a short-term inconvenience, but state officials indicate the new bridge should eliminate the need for future road closures that would have been necessary to make repairs on the existing structure, which is nearing the end of its service life.
The process of selecting a contractor is underway and, once those details are in place, the plans are to conduct a public meeting in Henderson. This will allow impacted businesses and residents to provide input and receive further information regarding this process.
