SAINT PAUL, Minn—Rep. Kelly Fenton, R-Woodbury, was named Vice Chair of a recently established Subcommittee on Workplace Safety & Respect. The subcommittee will deliver recommendations to lawmakers on policy changes after engaging with the public, employment law professionals, and other experts regarding harassment and discrimination.
“I am proud to be a member of the Minnesota House and represent the people and priorities of Woodbury at the Capitol, and this subcommittee will work to ensure it is always a safe and respectful place for the public, staff, lobbyists and lawmakers,” said Rep. Fenton. “With recent news stories about harassment at the Capitol and across our nation coming to light, it is important that we carefully examine what we can do to make sure the Minnesota House of Representatives is, and continues to be, a welcoming place to all.”
The Subcommittee on Workplace Safety & Respect will be chaired by Majority Leader Joyce Peppin, R-Rogers. Additional members include Rep. Deb Kiel, R-Crookston, Rep. Tim O’Driscoll, R-Sartell, Minority Leader Melissa Hortman, DFL-Brooklyn Park, Rep. Mike Freiberg, DFL-Golden Valley, and Rep. Jennifer Schultz, DFL-Duluth.
