GLENCOE, MN—Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, issued the following statement congratulating area 2015 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2015 Farm Family Recognition Program took place today at Farmfest.
The 2015 Farm Family of the Year award winners for the counties in District 18B are:
"Family farms and the agriculture community in Minnesota play a huge role in providing thousands of jobs, producing the food we eat, and more. It's great to see these families recognized for their work. I hope the legislature will continue looking at ways to help these and all farmers in Minnesota by reducing agriculture property taxes, and other legislation to make sure government isn't making life too difficult or too expensive for farm families across the state."
Gruenhagen is preparing House resolutions for each of the area award winners to recognize their award.
