MINUTES

Representative Dehn, Chair of the Subcommittee on Elections, called the meeting to order at 9:50 AM on March 13, 2019 in Room Basement of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative O’Driscoll moved to approve minutes for March 08, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1855 (Schultz) Proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article IV, section 3; establishing a redistricting commission to adopt congressional and legislative district boundaries following each federal decennial census.

Representative Nash moved to table HF 1855 (Schultz) and requested for a roll-call.

Chair Dehn moved to reconsider HF 1855 (Schultz). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Dehn moved HF 1855 (Schultz) as amended to be re-referred to the committee on Government Operations.

Chair Dehn moved to adopt amendment H1855DE1 and divided the H1855DE1 amendment.

Representative Nash offered an oral amendment to delete lines 2.27-3.21. THE MOTION FAILED.

Chair Dehn moved to adopt amendment H1855DE1 as divided with lines 1.1-3.29. THE MOTION PREVAILS.

Chair Dehn renewed motion to re-refer HF 1855 (Schultz) as amended to the committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
