MINUTES

Representative Dehn, Chair of the Subcommittee on Elections, called the meeting to order at 8:10 AM on March 5, 2019 in the Basement Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members present:

Members not present:
BAHNER, Kristin (Vice-Chair)
NASH, Jim (GOP Lead)

A quorum was not present.

HF 1628 (Sundin) Relating to special election timelines modified.

Representative Sundin testified on the bill.

A quorum was present.

Chair Dehn moved to adopt amendment H11628A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Secretary Steve Simon, Office of Secretary of State testified on the bill.

Chair Dehn laid over HF 1628 as amended for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

Representative Halverson moved to approve minutes for February 27, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1152 (Freiberg) County auditors authorized to transmit ballots electronically to persons with disabilities.

Representative Freiberg testified on the bill.

Chair Dehn laid over HF 1152 for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

HF 839 (Huot) School board vacancy filling process amended, and appointee to a vacancy allowed to serve remainder of unexpired term.

Representative Huot testified on the bill.

Representative Halverson assumed chair.

Representative Dehn assumed chair.

Chair Dehn laid over HF 839 for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

HF 1098 (Bernardy) Electronic voting system provisions modified, and alternative printed ballot styles permitted.

Representative Bernardy moved HF 839 to be possibly included in the omnibus bill and testified on the bill.
