Rep. Nathan Nelson Hosts Congressional Delegation to See Firsthand the Effects of Unrestricted Gray Wolves on the Agriculture Community

Hinckley, MN — Today Representative Nathan Nelson (R – Hinckley) hosted a delegation of congressional members to witness firsthand the impact of gray wolves on the local agriculture community. The visit shed light on the challenges faced by farmers due to the increasing gray wolf population. The delegation toured the farm and observe the effects of these predators on livestock.

“Farmers are the backbone of our community, and it’s crucial that we address the issues they face,” said Representative Nelson. “This visit will provide my colleagues with a firsthand understanding of the damage caused by gray wolves, and I hope it will lead to an effective solution to delist the gray wolf.”

Representative Nelson, a farmer himself, has been vocal about the need for policies that protect both the agriculture community and wildlife. This event underscores his commitment to finding a sustainable solution that respects the ecosystem while ensuring the continued success of local farming.

Following the tour the Natural Resources Committee held their field hearing on the issue in Sandstone. A recording of the hearing is available here: https://naturalresources.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=415934
