Legislative Update from Rep. Jeff Backer

Monday, April 24, 2023

Dear Neighbors,

I am deeply saddened by the news of Deputy Owen's passing last weekend. Please continue to pray for his family, friends, and loved ones and for the entire community of Cyrus and Pope County. My prayers also are with the two officers that were injured during the incident as well.

Upcoming Town Hall

BackerTownhall

Your Senate District 9 team consisting of Rep. Tom Murphy, Sen. Jordan Rasmussen, and myself will be hosting an education and parental rights town hall meeting on April 29th in Dalton at the community center. The event is set to begin at 9:00 AM. Hope to see you there!

Misplaced Priorities

Earlier this week, Democrats approved their Transportation bill. The bill raises $3.5 billion in new taxes and spends nearly $200 million for a train to Duluth.

Misplaced priorities are being shown by Democrats this week.
