Statement on Governor Dayton’s State of the State

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

St. Paul, Minnesota — Tonight Governor Dayton delivered his State of the State address, outlining his proposals to build on the progress of the last two years.

State Representatives John Ward (DFL – Baxter) and Joe Radinovich (DFL – Crosby) released the following statement:

“I want to thank Governor Dayton for his leadership and vision for the state of Minnesota. After a decade of deficits and cuts, Minnesota is making progress and we’re seeing results,” said Rep. Ward. “Our economy is growing; we have a budget surplus, and we’ve made investments in our students that will pay off in future economic growth. But we know our work isn’t done yet, including passing a statewide bonding bill to improve our infrastructure. I look forward to continuing work with members on both sides of the aisle to build on our progress.”

“Thanks to Governor Dayton and the hard work of Minnesotans, our state has reversed course from a decade of disinvestment that hurt our middle-class and our future,” said Rep. Radinovich. “Minnesota is moving forward and tonight we heard a strong, positive vision for our future — one that continues to make education and job creation a top priority to ensure Minnesota remains a great state with a strong middle class and economic opportunity for all.”
