Rep. Joe Radinovich Holds Town Hall Meeting in Garrison

Thursday, March 14, 2013

St. Paul, Minnesota — State Representative Joe Radinovich (DFL – Crosby) held a town hall meeting in Garrison on March 9. Rep. Radinovich was joined by state Senator Carrie Ruud (R – Breezy Point).

“We had a very lively, respectful discussion and I thank everyone for taking time out of their day on a Saturday to share their input,” said Rep. Radinovich. “I would also like to thank Senator Ruud for participating in the town halls as well. The ‘District 10 Team’ has a great working relationship and our partnership will lead to better legislation for our area.”

Topics discussed at the meeting included property taxes, cigarette taxes, education, manufacturing, and the local sewer district system, which garnered a number of strong concerns from constituents.

“Constituents expressed a number of concerns on a variety of issues,” said Rep. Radinovich. “We need to invest in education again to close the skills gap and give our children every opportunity to be successful. Property taxes are squeezing people in Greater Minnesota and we must enact property tax relief this session.

“We have asked the State Auditor to look into the matter, and I share their deep concern. I want to help constituents out anyway I can. I hope a local resolution can be found and I encourage folks to continue to contact me on the issue."

Rep. Radinovich encourages constituents to contact him with any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas on any legislative topic. Rep.
