Rep. Joe Radinovich Meets with Governor Dayton, Shares Concerns

Friday, March 8, 2013

St. Paul, Minnesota — Yesterday, Rep. Joe Radinovich (DFL - Crosby) and a group of DFL legislators met with Governor Mark Dayton to discuss the state budget. At the meeting, Governor Dayton listened to the input of legislators, who shared their ideas and concerns about the Governor’s budget. In particular, legislators shared concerns their constituents had with the Governor’s business-to-business tax proposal.

Earlier today at a meeting with business leaders, Governor Dayton announced that he will be dropping business-to-business taxes from his budget. State Representative Joe Radinovich (DFL – Crosby) thanked the Governor for listening to the concerns of his community and released the following statement.

“It was great to meet with Governor Dayton and share concerns my constituents and I had on the business-to-business tax and tax on construction labor,” said Rep. Radinovich. “Since the Governor's budget was announced I have participated in town hall meetings and sought input from constituents and small business owners, and many folks expressed a lot of concern around the business-to-business tax.

“As he has been through the entire budget process, Governor Dayton was open and receptive to input and new ideas relayed to me by my constituents. Now the legislature will be putting together a budget proposal and I will work to incorporate the priorities I’ve heard from constituents: investments in education and our future, a budget balanced honestly and without gimmicks, and a budget that keeps Minnesota economically competitive and allows our businesses to succeed. I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues and the governor on a budget that moves Minnesota forward.”
