ST. PAUL, MN – State Representative John Ward (DFL – Baxter) is informing constituents about an interesting new e-book from Minnesota Public Radio News called Fighting for An American Countryside, which explores the work being done by civic leaders and everyday people to reinvent rural living in Minnesota. A culmination of a three-year reporting project by MPR News, the e-book showcases the small, local efforts made by farmers, entrepreneurs, artists, immigrants and others to revitalize and transform their communities for the 21st century.
The book highlights a community in the Brainerd Lakes Area — Baxter.
“Minnesota is a great place to live because of its communities — a fact we know well in our area,” said Rep. Ward. “This new e-book is a fascinating look at communities throughout our state, including Baxter. I encourage folks to check it out.”
