St. Paul, Minnesota — State Representative John Ward (DFL – Baxter) is encouraging area residents to apply to serve on the Minnesota Insurance Marketplace Board, which will oversee Minnesota online health insurance marketplace, known as MNsure.
Minnesota individuals, families and small employers can use MNsure to get quality, affordable health insurance and access tax credits or assistance to help pay for coverage. Enrollment in MNSure begins this year and more than 1.3 million Minnesotans are expected to seek coverage through the exchange by 2016.
“It’s important that the people serving on this board are knowledgeable, talented people focused on ensuring that MNsure operates in the best interest of Minnesota consumers,” said Rep. Ward. “The purpose of the exchange is to increase insurance competition, make it easier for Minnesotans to compare plans and find a high-quality, affordable plan that fits their needs. We’ve got a lot of great, talented people in our area and it would be great if they were serving on this board.”
