Minnesota Department of Revenue to Offer Free Electronic Filing for Property Tax Refunds

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

St. Paul, Minnesota — Rep. John Ward (DFL – Baxter) is informing constituents about a new program with the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Starting on March 25, 2013 the Minnesota Department of Revenue will begin offering free electronic filing for homeowners who qualify for a Property Tax Refund. This is the first time the Minnesota Department of Revenue has offered a free online filing solution for individual property taxes.

“Many of us are already used to e-filing our federal and state income taxes and is this just another step in making tax filing season a little less of a pain,” said Rep. Ward. “If you qualify for a Property Tax Refund, be sure to take a look at this new online filing solution.”

The Department of Revenue has a video explaining who qualifies to e-file and a list of information needed to submit your refund online. Rep. Ward encourages constituents to contact him with any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas on any legislative topic. Rep. Ward can be reached by phone at 651-296-4333 or by email at rep.john.ward@house.mn. Constituents can also visit Rep. Ward’s legislative page and sign up for email updates.
