Rep Patti Fritz Responds to State of the State Address

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

ST. PAUL – Wednesday night, Governor Dayton delivered his State of the State address to a joint session of the Legislature. His speech touched on the progress made over the past year and the work that lies ahead.

State Rep. Patti Fritz (DFL- Faribault) was pleased the speech focused on jobs and the economy:

“Governor Dayton’s speech was clear - he campaigned on jobs, and that’s what this legislature has helped him deliver.  We have more people working in Minnesota today than at any time in our history.  We can all celebrate that.  The Governor spoke about some of the investments that have been going on right here in our region, and I hope to see that kind of optimism continue because we have a lot to be optimistic about,” said Rep. Fritz.  “We’re finally getting back on our feet, and I think more people feel that every day.  Our budget is balanced, we’re investing in our kids instead of borrowing from them, and we’re helping middle class families and businesses keep their tax dollars in their pockets by enacting tax cuts and repealing farm and business taxes.  Those are great accomplishments and his long-term vision for the state wants everyone to share that success.  I support that, and always will.”
