Representative Klevorn, Chair of the State and Local Government Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Harder moved to approve the minutes from Thursday, February 16, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Huot assumed the gavel at 8:31 A.M.

HF1826 (Klevorn); State government; interagency transfer reports repealed.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF1826 be laid over for possible inclusion in the State and Local Government Finance and Policy omnibus bill.

Representative Klevorn presented HF1826.

Testifying on the bill:

Chair Klevorn renewed the motion that HF1826 be laid over for possible inclusion in the State and Local Government Finance and Policy omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF1830 (Klevorn); Types of collateral the Executive Council may approve for deposit with commissioner of management and budget specified.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF1830 be laid over for possible inclusion in the State and Local Government Finance and Policy omnibus bill.

Chair Klevorn presented HF1830.

HF274 (Freiberg); Commission created to redesign the state flag and official state seal, and report required.

Representative Freiberg moved that HF274 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Freiberg moved to adopt the DE2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Freiberg presented HF274, as amended.

HF211 (Keeler); Indigenous Peoples' Day school observance required, and Indigenous Peoples' Day established as state holiday and Christopher Columbus Day eliminated as state holiday.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF211 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Klevorn moved to adopt the A17 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Keeler presented HF211, as amended.
