MINUTES

Representative Rena Moran, Chair of the Committee, called the remote Ways and Means Committee meeting to order at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, May 14, 2021, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services and Facebook Live.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Olson moved to adopt the minutes from Wednesday, May 12, 2021. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


SF519 (Koegel) Information, assistance, services, and medication required to be provided to inmates upon release from prison

Chair Moran moved that SF519 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Koegel gave an overview of SF519.

Safia Khan, Director of Government and External Relations, Department of Corrections, answered questions on SF519.

Following discussion, Chair Moran renewed the motion that SF519 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. A roll call was taken, and the results were as follows:

Chair Moran moved that HF337 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Moran moved to adopt the H0337A9 amendment.

Representative Lee gave an overview of the H0337A9 amendment.

Chair Moran renewed the motion to adopt the H0337A9 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lee gave an overview of HF337 as amended.

Representative Noor moved that HF728 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.
