JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on March 19, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Liebling moved that the minutes of March 18, 2021, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 108 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Noor presented HF 108, a bill for an act relating to employment; prohibiting employers or prospective employers from requiring or using credit information as a condition of employment or for employment purposes; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 181.53.

Chair Becker-Finn renewed the motion that HF 108 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Becker-Finn requested a roll call on HF 108.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 2124 be recommended to be re-referred to the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Committee.

Representative Keeler presented HF 2124, a bill for an act relating to human rights; creating an office for missing and murdered indigenous relatives; requiring a report; appropriating money; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 241.
