MINUTES

Representative Jennifer Schultz, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 am on March 3rd, 2021 remotely via Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.


The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Robbins moved that the minutes from March 2nd, 2021 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF980 (Becker-Finn) Child Support provisions modified

Chair Schultz moved that HF980, be rereferred to the Way and Means Committee.

Chair Schultz moved the A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hanson moved that HF1436 be rereferred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law committee.

Chair Schultz moved the A1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hanson renewed her motion to rerefer HF1436, as amended, to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law committee.

HF1435 (Hanson, J.) Children and family custody provisions modified.

Rep. Hanson moved that HF1435 be laid over for possible inclusion in the budget omnibus.

Chair Schultz renewed the motion that HF1435 be laid over for possible inclusion in the budget omnibus.


Chair Schultz moved to reconsider the motion to re-refer HF1436. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Chair Schultz clarified that the motion to adopt the A1 amendment to HF1436 had been made in error as there was no amendment for the bill. Chair Schultz then moved that HF1436, as originally presented to the committee, be recommended for re-referral to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Schultz moved that HF1305 be laid over for possible inclusion in a budget omnibus.

HF1559 (Rasmusson) Adoption provisions modified, safe place for newborn provisions added, child welfare program provisions modified, and Northstar kinship assistance provisions modified.

Rep. Rasmusson moved to rerefer HF1559 to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Rep. Rasmusson moved the A1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Rasmusson renewed his motion to rerefer and recommend HF1559, as amended, to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Schultz moved to adopt the Committee Report for HF601 from the Preventing Homelessness Policy Division. THE REPORT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Schultz moved that HF601 be laid over for possible inclusion in a budget omnibus
