AGRICULTURE FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mike Sundin, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:37 P.M. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present.

Rep. Vang moved to approve adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion prevailed. The minutes from the March 15, 2021 meeting were adopted.

Chair Sundin passed the gavel and Vice Chair Vang assumed the Chair at 1:39 P.M.

HF 356 (Sundin) Temporary custom processors exempted from licensure and inspection requirements.

Rep. Sundin moved that HF 356 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus Agriculture Finance bill.

Rep. Sundin moved the DE1 amendment. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Rep. Sundin renewed his motion that HF 356, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus Agriculture Finance bill.

Rep. Sundin reassumed the Chair at 1:53 P.M.

HF 1727 (Ecklund) Farmed Cervidae additional fencing requirement established, whitetailed deer possession moratorium provided, and farmed Cervidae regulatory duties and powers transferred from Board of Animal Health to Department of Natural Resources.

Rep. Ecklund moved that HF 1727 be recommended to be referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy committee.

Rep. Ecklund moved the A3 amendment. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Rep. Ecklund presented the bill, as amended.
