The House of Representatives began the 91st Legislative Session with the swearing in of members, elections of officers and a vigorous debate on proposed changes to the committee structure it will operate under this biennium.
DFL leaders also held a press conference Wednesday to outline the first 10 bills they planned to introduce, which included measures dealing with education, affordable health care and gun violence. Those bills were introduced, along with 21 others, during a brief floor session Thursday, which was followed by a remembrance for former Rep. Tom Rukavina, who recently passed away.
A busy slate of committee meetings have already been posted for next week as the 2019 session really begins to roll. But, before looking ahead, let's look back at what you may have missed this week.
