The 2020 legislative session began Feb. 11, and House members were away the following day at a legislative conference. Although it wasn’t a full week of meetings, legislators were anything but idle during their first week.

Twenty committee meetings and two floor sessions were held with a number of 2019 bills back on agendas along with new legislation such as HF3100, which would create an emergency insulin assistance program.

The House Capital Investment Division also rolled up its sleeves and began work on one of this year’s signature subjects, the creation of a bonding bill to fund improvement projects around the state.

The pace picks up first thing next Monday morning, when the House Ways and Means Committee is set to meet at 9:45 a.m. to consider bills dealing with paid family and medical leave and earned sick and safe time. But before we look too far ahead, here’s one last look at the last week.
