St. Paul, MN— Representative Susan Akland (R-St. Peter) and St. Peter communities have learned of the new legislative districts and maps in the State Legislature. The redistricting plans were released this week and were determined by a special panel of five state judges.
The new districts are the result of 2020 Census data changes. District 19A, currently held by Akland will become District 18A. The district lines remain largely the same.
“District lines have never dictated my priorities,” Akland said. “I am excited for the opportunity to continuing serving these communities. I am committed to creating a safe Minnesota that we can all grow and prosper in.”
The new district will go into effect in January 2023.
