St. Paul, MN – Representative Susan Akland (R-St. Peter) has co-signed HF3124, legislation allowing for a lifetime substitute teaching license. The bill would allow for a lifelong substitute teaching license for individuals who meet state requirements.
“Across the state I am listening to teachers. By providing an easier avenue for folks to become substitute teachers, we can alleviate one part of the burden teachers face,” Akland said. “The need for teachers is great and the pressures teachers face in a post-Covid classroom are numerous. If I can help support them by easing the process to find a substitute, I will gladly support this legislation.”
HF3124 is currently in the Education Policy Committee.
