Commitment to Service

I recently chatted with with TPT's Mary Lahammer about my roots in public service, my time in the military, and how my first term in the legislature is going.

One Year of Emergency Powers

Last Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of Minnesota's peacetime emergency. For the last 12 months, the Governor has been unilaterally making decisions that impact the lives of millions of Minnesotans. It's past time for the Legislature’s role as a coequal branch of government to be restored.

To be clear, COVID-19 is real, and we need to take it seriously. However, the acute “emergency” is over. With case counts dropping and vaccines ramping up, it’s time to transition to managing the pandemic.

I recorded a short video discussing my thoughts on this and what the path forward should be. You can watch that video here or by clicking on the photo below.
