SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Yesterday, Governor Tim Walz, House Speaker Melissa Hortman, and Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka announced a bipartisan agreement on an outline for a new two-year state budget. Rep. Liz Boldon (DFL – Rochester) issued the following statement:
"I am pleased that leadership has been able to come to an agreement on budget targets which will give us resources to support and invest in Minnesotans throughout the state in a variety of ways. While the targets are a great start, it is now time to ensure the funds are allocated equitably. These targets also mean policy negotiations will begin in earnest. There is a lot we must do to support families, students, workers, and main street businesses, and I am confident that these targets have set us on a positive path."
