Rep. Frederick: The 2022 Legislative Session Convenes

Monday, January 31, 2022

SAINT PAUL, MN – The 2022 Legislative Session convened at noon today. The session will focus on assisting those most impacted by the pandemic and how they can be helped by the state’s historic $7.7 billion surplus. State Representative Luke Frederick (DFL-Mankato) released the following statement:

“Lawmakers have an opportunity to help the Minnesotans who have suffered the most economically from the pandemic. I talk with neighbors and area residents every day who have experienced hardships directly related to COVID-19 and now, we can make a difference in their lives.

“House DFLers have announced plans to help Minnesotans boost their budgets and focus on reducing big expenses like childcare, housing, and health care. We also are committed to fund public safety so all Minnesotans can feel secure in their communities.

“My legislative priorities also include securing needed funding in the bonding bill for key projects for the Mankato wastewater treatment plant and MNSU.

“Working together, we can help Minnesotans emerge from this pandemic stronger in our communities and as a state.”
