Rep. Rasmusson joins national Healthy States National Task Force

Friday, April 16, 2021

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jordan Rasmusson, R-Fergus Falls, has accepted an appointment to join a national task force designed to assist states with a variety of public policy challenges, all of which have been intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new, two-year Healthy States National Task Force was launched by the Council of State Governments. It will develop public policy resources and solutions to address state policy challenges in the areas of fiscal health, human health, economic and workforce health, and civic health.

The CSG said Rasmusson was selected for his expertise and commitment to policy change and improvement. He will be serving the Fiscal Health Subcommittee, which will begin its work in coming months.

“I am honored to be appointed to serve in this national role and as the only Minnesota legislator on the Fiscal Health group,” Rasmusson said. “State governments’ fiscal health is key to protecting taxpayers, economic growth, and stable public services.”

While the long-term impact of the pandemic and its resulting changes are still unknown, state leaders — including those serving on this national task force — are working to anticipate what the coming years might hold for the future of the country’s economic and workforce health, human health, civic health and fiscal health.
