We did it! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to serve you at our state’s Capitol. I can’t wait to get to work increasing access to great education and affordable healthcare, making our state a more equitable, and supporting our agriculture communities. I am excited to pick up the mantle of Erin Murphy’s leadership. Please keep in touch – share your perspectives and ideas with me. I want to involve you in our government’s law making process.
Committees
I have been appointed Vice Chair of the Rules and Legislative Administration Committee. I have also been appointed to serve on the following committees: Education Policy, Housing Finance and Policy Division, Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division and Property and Local Tax Division.
Voices and Choices for Children
Last week I had the opportunity to speak at an event for Voices and Choices – a Children’s Defense Fund program to meaningfully engage and develop communities of color in Minnesota’s government. Diverse voices create diverse solutions and it was wonderful to speak with these students about how we can engage underserved communities in government, philanthropy and non-profits.

Legislation
I’m proud to have chief-authored one of the bills in the Minnesota Values Agenda – the 10 bills the House DFL released the first week of session to start a conversation about improving Minnesotans’ lives. The bill I authored would offer earned sick and safe time to all employees. Minnesotans deserve to take time off from work to care for themselves or their loved ones without putting their economic security at risk, and they want their neighbors and community members to have the same opportunity.
