Rep. Hodan Hassan votes to support funding for shelter providers
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Tonight, the Minnesota House voted to pass needed resources that will help address Minnesota’s unsheltered homelessness crisis. HF444 known as the Pathway Home Act, significantly increases funding to critical state programs that support shelter providers across Minnesota in their direct response and service to Minnesotans who are currently unsheltered.
Rep. Hodan Hassan (DFL – Minneapolis) is a co-author of the legislation and voted to support it.
“Shelters save lives and keep people safe in their darkest time of need. Lack of housing disproportionately affects communities of color and indigenous communities, and programs designed to help need to be equitably funded. In my district, Simpson Housing Services shelter will receive $4 million, which is greatly needed. I was proud to vote for this legislation to both send this money back to my district and support communities in need all over Minnesota.”
